Plattform Industrie 4.0 and Alliance Industrie du Futur advance together in the digitalisation of industry

Germany and France are important partners in the field of digitalisation. Plattform Industrie 4.0 and the Alliance Industrie du Futur aim to use digitalisation to further expand the competitiveness of their manufacturing industries. They have been in exchange since the beginning of their founding.

The cooperation is closely linked to the Europe-wide activities and shares the following focal points: Application scenarios and examples, technology and test infrastructure, standardisation as well as training and changes in skills requirements and the organisation of work. The French collection of Industrie 4.0-application examples can be viewed online on the map of the Alliance Industrie du Futur.

Background

The foundation for the cooperation between the two initiatives was laid in October 2015 at a high-level conference on digitalisation in Paris: the "Conférence Numérique". Subsequently, representatives of the Plattform Industrie 4.0 and the Alliance Industrie du Futur worked out a joint action plan. The Franco-German Digital Conference 2016 further strengthened the cooperation. Since 2017, cooperation with France has taken place within the framework of the Trilateral Cooperation and with the additional involvement of Italy.
