Máxima and Willem-Alexander, the queen and king of the Netherlands, visited Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland from October 10th to 12th. The topics of the visit included developing a European cooperation and the digitization of industry. A conference set the framework for the exchange on the future of industry and for signing the Joint Agreement. Thomas Hahn, who is a member of the Plattform Industrie 4.0 steering committee and responsible for international cooperation, signed the agreement as a representative of the Plattform. The Team chairman, Dzentje Hamming-Bluemink, signed on behalf of the Netherlands.
The eight topics focus ranged from standardisation and qualification to digital business models. Furthermore, common use cases are planned between the and the Dutch Smart Industry Network—the two test facilities have already successfully worked together in the past.
