The basis for a functioning and uniform "language" of networked components is the standardization of digital manufacturing processes. In the thematic development of the RAMI-architecture, the communication interface between the components is of central importance. For this purpose, a so-called "administration shell" is defined that contains all data of the real component like a "digital twin". The working paper "Structure of the Administration shell" indicates the requirements that can be a model for an IT specification and implementation.
