Plattform Industrie 4.0 and RRI (Robot Revolution & Industrial IoT Initiative)—a leading Japanese organization promoting innovation and standardization in industrial digital transformation—have renewed their partnership, originally established in 2016, and announced a new strategic collaboration on October 21. Going forward, both organizations will further deepen their cooperation in the fields of Industrial IoT and Industrie 4.0.

Ten years after the initial joint statement—based on the 2016 Japan-Germany government agreement—the manufacturing landscape has changed fundamentally. At the same time, technologies such as Artificial Intelligence have advanced significantly. In this context, there have been ongoing discussions between Japan and Germany about shared visions and perspectives for manufacturing.

The two organizations have jointly reviewed these developments and, building on the trust established over the past decade, have set out a new strategic collaboration.
