At its 45th meeting in May 2025, the Steering Committee of the Plattform Industrie 4.0 confirmed Steffen Fischer, CHRO at ifm, as the new interim head of the Working Group on “Work, Training and Education”. Fischer on taking office:

I am delighted that the Steering Committee has placed its trust in me and that I have been given the opportunity to take over the management of WG 5 “Work, education and training”. The digital transformation of industry is not just a technical challenge, but above all an organizational and cultural task. In a rapidly changing world of work, companies must continuously learn, adapt structures and actively involve employees. It is not just about personal development, but also about shaping change holistically. Technological progress can only be implemented with people - not without them. This is precisely where I would like to start with WG 5 and develop practical, future-oriented solutions together with the members.
