Perspectives from around the world – a global view on Industrie 4.0
Introduction
Plattform Industrie 4.0 cooperates on the basis of currently 11 formalized partnerships and a growing international community. We asked our international partners: What motivates them to cooperate globally? What do you want to achieve together?
Projects such as Gaia-X or the Asset Administration Shell make sense if they are developed on the scale of the European market through cooperation. The respective markets of the Member States do not have the critical size.
Italy – Italian National Plan “Transition 4.0”
The trilateral cooperation between Italy, Germany, and France with its multistakeholder approach let us progress over the years towards a more digitalized industry. This is thanks to the sharing of knowledge and experiences and the cooperation on policy views.
The cooperation covers different areas, and we are now working on the digital future of our industries with a focus on data spaces.
Netherlands – Smart Industry Program
Value chains are key to our strategy. They do not stop at our national borders. The challenges we are facing, are mostly the same and too big to solve on our own. Working together internationally is a no-brainer. It helps us to build a good foundation for collaboration, but also to advance productivity and the climate transition using digitalization.
Austria – Plattform Industry 4.0 Austria
Supply chains cross borders. Making these supply chains more efficient, requires norms, standards, best practice examples, trust and a common understanding of the drivers of digitalization. We, as Platform Industry 4.0 Austria, foster the exchange and are involved in various European projects.
USA – CESMII The Smart Manufacturing Industry
Reaching the climate goals of the COP 21 Paris Agreement and the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) will require innovation, new technologies and a skilled workforce. These are topics closely linked to the digital transformation of manufacturing. Our partnership with Plattform Industrie 4.0 is an essential way to ensure that we stay aligned on these important strategies.
Japan – Robot Revolution & Industrial IoT Initiative
Japan and Germany are both world leaders in the field of manufacturing technology and production systems. At the same time our cultural backgrounds and views are different. We expect our collaboration will keep contributing to the world more and more.
Republic of Korea – Korean Smart Manufacturing Office (KOSMO)
Since 2020, we have been collaborating with Plattform Industrie 4.0 in Germany and the IIC in the USA to create added values. We work on Industry 4.0 technologies such as AAS, Gaia-X, and testbeds to create value from companies’ data, using Cloud Computing and AI.
We thank all our partners for their contributions! The selected quotes only give an excerpt of our international network.
