An ad hoc working group, consisting of experts from the technical eCl@ss committees Center for Research and Development (CRD) and Digitalization Expert Group (DEG) as well as experts from the Plattform Industrie 4.0 and the ZVEI, is currently working on a white paper with the working title "Details of the Asset Administration Shell & eCl@ss - Implementation and requirements".

The aim is to create a concrete implementation recommendation for users who want to use eCl@ss in I4.0 scenarios. The document is expected to be published in English at the end of 2019 and addresses the following questions:

• How should eCl@ss be implemented in I4.0 scenarios?
• How can elements of the asset administration shell be modelled with the eCl@ss metamodel?
• What are the requirement from I4.0 scenarios for the further development of eCl@ss?
• How are the content requirements for eCl@ss implemented by eCl@ss working groups?

As a result, eCl@ss users will be able to quickly standardize elements of asset administration shells in eCl@ss and use eCl@ss mechanisms.

"Details of the Asset Administration Shell” is the specification for the structure of an asset administration shell, published by the Plattform Industrie 4.0 in November 2018 (available in the online library of the Plattform Industrie 4.0).
