The working group “Digital Business Models in Industrie 4.0” aims at understanding the EU guidelines on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSRD Directive) primarily as an opportunity for growth and new business models. With this publication the authors show that alignment with European sustainability requirements leads to economic growth. Based on seven real-world case studies from SMEs they describe three core areas for economic success: sustainable financial strategies, digital business models and the circular economy.
