Plattform Industrie 4.0 and Smart Industry Program: Identifying future fields of a digitalized industry and translating them into practice

Plattform Industrie 4.0 and the Smart Industry Program focus on joint learning and open exchange to accelerate the digitalisation of industry. They work together to identify future fields within digitalisation and to promote innovation.

The partners work together on an event-related basis and invite each other's experts to relevant workshops and events. The topics cover all areas of the 2030 vision, including standardisation, the Asset Administration Shell, industrial cyber security, Industrie 4.0 applications and qualification and training. They are also working on concrete use cases through the Labs Network Industrie 4.0 and the Dutch Smart Industry Program. The cooperation also supports European efforts to promote Industrie 4.0, for example the expansion of industrial data spaces within the framework of GAIA-X or carbon-free production through Industrie 4.0 applications.

Background

The cooperation was formalised by a cooperation agreement during the visit of the Dutch royal couple to Germany on 11 October 2018. During Hannover Messe 2019, the partners Plattform Industrie 4.0 and Smart Industry Program reaffirmed their cooperation. The exchange continues on an ongoing basis through expert groups.
