Through this cooperation, the two countries want to share strategies, recommendations and best practices. The aim is to help the respective states and the private sector to appropriately address changes caused by digitalisation and, in particular, Industrie 4.0. The Plattform Industrie 4.0 and the Mexican Plataforma México I. 4.0 are planing to cooperate closely on this.

The cooperation will include cybersecurity, international standardization, Industrie 4.0 testing laboratories, regulatory policy and international regulatory framworks, internet governance, public and private digital positions, support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), development and training, as well as research and development.

On April 23, 2018, Mexico and Gemany agreed at the Hannover Fair to cooperate on Industrie 4.0 and digital regulation for an initial five year period
