The primary aims of the agreement on intensifying collaboration on the subject of Industrie 4.0 between the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and the Czech Ministry of Industry and Trade (MPO) are cooperations in science and the promotion of innovation partnerships in industry, above all in the midsize sector.

The first agreement was concluded in Prague as long ago as October 2015. During the SME conference 'KMU innovativ: IKT', a partnering event for enterprises and research partners from both countries on the subject of Industrie 4.0 took place in October 2016.
