Challenge and mission: Proactively shaping the working world of tomorrow
Industrie 4.0 is changing the world of work. New areas of work emerge, old areas are changing. Education and training as well as models of employment are being redesigned.
The transition to a connected industry and a good working world tomorrow can only succeed if everyone—from the entrepreneur to the employee—is involved in the change process. The experts from Plattform Industrie 4.0 bring together those responsible for education from management and works councils to discuss key questions relating to work, eduation and training.
The aim of the working group "Work, Education and Training" is to shape the upcoming changes proactively and in collaboration with social partners.

Six recommendations for action to companies, which should be taken into account when developing individual, digital educational projects within the company.
- 16 operational best practice examples of qualification 4.0 and work 4.0 from practice, which offer and motivate other companies to initiate their own activities.
Outcome 2: Social partnership in the industry – dialogue with an effect
Equal participation of employers and employees in shaping the work of tomorrow will produce better results and solutions. The working group "work, education and training" shows that the social partnership remains a model of success even in the digital age:
With the social partner dialogues at the Hannover Messe, the working group presented their results in 2016, 2017 and 2018 to a broad audience of experts. The results of the social partner dialogues are summarized in a publication.
- This dialogue has demonstrated an effect. The results of the working group have been incorporated in the reorganization of the training regulation of industrial metal and electrical professions.
Objectives: Identify trends in qualification and create operational acceptance
The experts of this working group are working on establishing and explaining the artificial intelligence trend in the context of company training. In addition, the working group wants to point out the opportunities and importance of agile working, to consider qualification in "white collar" areas, and to continue to support the reorganization of regulations on training. The working group is also working on a strategy for the acceptance of Industrie 4.0 within companies.
