Securing Global Industrial Value Networks – synchronising international approaches

Conference of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy and the Plattform Industrie 4.0

Veranstalter:German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy and the Plattform Industrie 4.0

Digitalisation is the key driver of new industrial value networks based on connectivity and data with the potential to foster strong and sustainable growth in the world economy. Security is a key enabler of new industrial value networks. Currently, companies who want to be integrated in global value chains face different security requirements depending on specific customer needs and varying international regulatory approaches.

The conference will bring together international top-level stakeholders and decision makers from industry, governments and regulatory bodies for two days of dialogue and discussion. The conference will focus on current approaches and standardisation needs for future cooperation along industrial value networks with a view to synchronising international requirements of industry and regulators.

The first day will cover political and business requirements on a national and global scale in keynotes, panel discussions and a wide range of networking opportunities. The second day will deal with technical issues specified through the Plattform working group on the security of networked systems. The program covers questions like how to build a secure infrastructure, guarantee secure communication or achieve trustworthiness in global industrial value networks.

We are looking forward to inspiring discussions with you on international security requirements, existing and forthcoming approaches to tackling industrial cyber security needs, and, going forward, how to synchronise the different international approaches. We would be delighted to welcome you to the conference and would greatly appreciate it if you could forward this preliminary invitation to any interested stakeholders. Attendance at the conference will be free of charge.
