Digitising Manufacturing in the G20 – Initiatives, Best Practices and Policy Approaches
Under the German G20 Presidency, “Shaping an Interconnected World”, ministers with responsibility for the digital economy will meet for the first time on 6 -7 April 2017. In this context, the Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy is organising an event which focuses in particular on the manufacturing sector. The digitalised industry – Industrie 4.0 as we call it in Germany – has a potential to foster the global wellbeing through a more efficient and sustainable production.
This conference will serve as a platform for top level stakeholders and decision makers from industry, governments and civil society, as well as such initiatives as the German “Plattform Industrie 4.0” from all G20 states for a two days’ exchange and discussion.
A mixture of plenary and workshop sessions, and manifold networking possibilities will give you the opportunity to explore and discuss the concepts, ideas and approaches of the G20 states in the field of digitalisation in the manufacturing sector to unleash a new global economic potential. We will focus on how digitalisation affects the G20 states, discuss regulatory concepts and approaches with regard to Industry 4.0 topics, such as IT-security, standardisation, global workforce development, societal issues, transformations of global value chains, cycle economy and present best practices.
